PRIVATE EQUITY & WORKING CAPITAL LINE FOR FOOD PRODUCTION BUSINESS

We remain on the advisory board for this small, high-end honey production and wholesale business, having raised private equity investment for scaling the business, along with a working capital facility to support continued growth. When we met the founder of the business he required both funding and personnel, which led us to place one of our consultants into an operations management role and they have since seen commercial contracts negotiated to grow forward revenues exponentially.

PRIVATE EQUITY FOR ONLINE MUSIC PLATFORM

Originally envisaged as a freelance platform for matching aspiring music artists and music industry professionals, we invested in Shodement to provide growth capital as the business increased its engagement with British, European and American musicians.

Since our initial investment the business has launched initiatives including the Global 12 music festival in London and an app based version of the matching platform, leading to impressive engagements between music producers and artists.

ENGAGEMENT TO ADVISE AND OVERSEE A CAPITAL RAISE AND BUY-OUT OF A PAYMENTS TERMINAL BUSINESS

Axial has been engaged to negotiate the acquisition of a payments terminal provider, and to secure the necessary capital to complete on the transaction. We drew on our relationship with an institutional fund for the buyout & bolt-on transaction, supported by a revolving debt facility to complete the investment and to provide flexible capital for continued growth.

VENTURE CAPITAL INVESTMENT FOR TECH DRIVEN DATA ANALYTICS FIRM

Operating in the analytics and corporate insights space, our client had developed and proven a software package (SAAS) to improve working capital efficiencies of business operations. We sourced manpower and an investment package to help scale the business, and our client has now deployed their business solution in the mid-large corporate space - and has gone onto further success by winning first prize in an EU/UK tech accelerator in 2019.

CO-DEVELOPMENT JOINT VENTURES

A co-funded development of 7 apartments in Surrey with an experienced developer. The developer on this project is long established in the area and had agreed the purchase of a site with detailed planning, and came to us for funding to complete the project. Works commenced in early 2019 with funding in place and the developer is running their team on a design and build contract to create a Tudor-style building with lift serving all floors, including the penthouse. Completion is due in early 2020, with shell works getting under way from late Summer 2019.

LEVERAGED BUY-OUT OF ONLINE FOOD COMPANY

Corporate advisory and buy-out funding for a client in the food wholesaling industry Our corporate advisory office worked with this client for 12 months to negotiate acquisition and investment terms to purchase a multi-million pound food wholesale business, to develop its online service offering to B2B clients across the UK. We structured a funding package to support the acquisition, and provided the audit and legal expertise to complete the buy-out and fund further growth.

JOINT VENTURE FUNDING FOR 25 BUNGALOWS

This site with full planning permission was presented to us to fund and develop. Axial Capital raised the joint venture finance and funded contractors to build out 25 houses by the water in Essex. Works commenced in early 2018 with Axial providing support throughout the build contract, to create new roadways and ultimately build out the houses in 2 phases, with the majority being built to sell on the open market. The site completed in early 2020, with sales already in place by late 2019.

Private Equity secured for the development of 51 apartments in Essex

A stunning development proposal to create a mixed use scheme of apartments and restaurant/commercial required funding for the acquisition of the site, an enhancement to the planning already attached to the site, and ultimately the build out of the property. Axial Capital sourced the finance to allow the client to secure and develop the site into an iconic coastal property.

The client has a strong background in managing developments schemes, from procurement through to construction and broader investment, with this project in Southend on Sea in Essex being their most ambitious yet.

Residential Development Funding for six homes in Kent

In this Kent coastal town, our client had an agreement to build 6 terraced houses using his usual timber frame build for a rapid turn-around of the project. The funding he had access to wasn’t adequate to complete the full phase of the development, and so we stepped in to place the required development finance to complete the project.

As of Autumn 2017 the scheme of houses has been completed and reservations taken.

Private equity backing for the development of 5 buildings leased to the Co-operative

The development of a series of pre-let convenience stores, with the Co-operative as the anchor tenant, allowed us to source support from our private equity network for the development of five sites across the Home Counties.

Through ring-fencing an allocation of five million pounds, the clients were able to maintain a pipeline of projects over an 18-month period, with the knowledge that each pre-approved development site would have the requisite capital in place.

Structured Development Finance to fund 100% of a nine-property scheme in Cornwall

Our client is an experienced developer in Cornwall and had agreed the acquisition of a new site whilst completing the works on a previous scheme. The new site had planning permission for nine detached and terraced homes, set on a hill by the Cornish coast.

As the client’s funds were tied up in the project he was in the process of completing, we structured a cross-collateralised facility to remove the existing debt from his recent scheme and fully fund both the acquisition and development of the new site to create £2.5million of new homes.
